At North River Charter Academy (NRCA), we are dedicated to delivering a structured, engaging, and student-centered educational experience that aligns with our mission, vision, and guiding principles.

Our academic program is built on four core pillars designed to support student growth and achievement:
  • STEAM Focus (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Mathematics)
  • Science of Reading (Structured Literacy Approach)
  • Writing Across the Curriculum (WAC)
  • Student Leadership Development (Leader in Me Framework)
Guiding Principles
NRCA is built on eight key principles that shape our learning community:
Deliver hands-on, challenging, and problem-solving learning experiences.
Emphasize student collaboration and active participation.
Recognize and nurture every child’s academic and personal potential
Promote self-confidence, independent thinking, and student voice.
Celebrate individual talents and support students in reaching their full potential.
Foster a safe, caring, and supportive learning environment.
Build leadership and life skills including accountability, communication, and adaptability.
Create strong family-school partnerships through open communication and engagement.
STEAM-Focused Learning
Our integrated STEAM approach prepares students for college, careers, and life by promoting risk-taking, hands-on learning, and collaboration. By adding the arts to STEM, we spark creativity and innovation. STEAM education empowers students to think critically, solve real-world problems, and communicate effectively—essential skills in today’s world.
